Feet

Nov 13, 2009
Everybody around Bere and the surrounding villages either are bare footed or have sandals or partial sandals or just one sandal. There is all different kinds of feet here. Big feet, little feet, cracked feet, cut feet, feet without toes, feet that are mangled and some have no feet. Sounds like Dr. Seuss!!! All these feet have a story to tell. Where have they been? Where will they go and how many miles have those feet walked. Have they traveled to do good? Or have they traveled to do bad. Were they born like this? Was it some kind of situation they were in, to cause this to dilemma to there feet? Everybody has dirty feet around here. It gets in the cracks of your feet and it doesn't matter how often you wash them, soon your feet are stained by the dirt and dust of Bere. Before you know it they start to look like the natives. But as I think of this, our feet get darker and their feet get lighter so really our feet show us we are the same because of where we traveled. You can always tell the new people that come. They have nice clean feet all manicured. But soon they too will have the signature feet of Bere. In Romans 10:14,15 says this, "But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!" Some people are disgusted by feet. Dirty, smelly, distorted feet that just gross them out. But the feet of people tell a story. A story that might help us to know where they have come from. A story that would help us show more compassion for these people. Feet here are not beautiful but useful. Our dirty feet do not seem so bad when we realize God knows how beautiful they really are.
